GKH horizontal siphon peeler centrifuges

GKH is designed with the siphonage as similar as vacuum pipe except the functions of common peeler centrifuge. Before feeding, open backflush valve to regenerate the filter medium, and materials are evenly distributed onto filter medium on inner wall of basket by distributor in feeding. Liquid phase passes through filter medium and gaps between internal baskets under the action of centrifugal force, and enters siphon chamber through the basket and through-hole of siphon chamber and finally discharges from siphon pipe. Solid phase is retained on filter medium and forms filter cake. Stop feeding when filter cake layer reaches the set thickness. Next, open the washing valve, soak and wash the filter cake in basket, perform the secondary dewatering after washing, unload materials after dewatering materials for a certain time and fully drying them. Start scraper and solid materials will be scraped and discharged out of machine from discharge pipes, and scraper will retract and enter the next cycle after unloading materials.

Principle of Operation

The GKH model not only has the function of a regular peeler centrifuge, but also creates a vacuum beneath the filter cloth by a specially designed rotary siphon basket, which increases the filtration pressure and boosts the filtration rate. Before the feeding step, the backwash valve is opened, and the backwash liquid is fed through the siphon chamber and permeates the residual heel from underneath, which re-suspends the residual heel and restores the permeability of filter medium. During feeding, the slurry is evenly distributed on the filter medium installed in the basket via the feed distributor. Under the centrifugal force, the liquid phase penetrates the filter cake and the filter medium, is redirected through axial channels beneath filter medium support segments and the through-bores into the siphon chamber and is finally extracted from the centrifuge by a pivoting skimmer pipe. The solid phase is retained on the filter medium to form the filter cake. When the filter cake reaches the desired level, the feed step is finished. The wash valve is then opened, and the washing liquid becomes submerged into the filter cake due to the effect of centrifugal force. Following the washing step, the cake dry spinning step comes, which ends when the desired residual cake moisture is reached or after a predetermined spin time. The filter cake is scraped out through a solid discharge chute by the scraper knife that swings into the filter cake. The scraper knife is returned after filter cake is discharged from the centrifuge. Then, the machine runs for the subsequent operating cycle.

Special design features

Compared with the same GK model, the hourly production of the GKH model can be increased by 20% -50%, and the residual cake moisture becomes lower. The filter cake can be washed for a longer contact time to produce a purer cake, with lower consumption of washing liquid. The heel cake can be effectively removed, and the filter cloth can be regenerated by backwashing and rinsing. The centrifuge adopts the variable frequency drive (VRD) and the PLC control, equipped with automation system, hydraulic system, and pneumatic system. The entire process of backwashing, feeding, filtration, washing, dry spinning, and cake discharging is automatically controlled. It is convenient to use and easy to operate. The machine can complete the individual process steps at full rotational speed to meet the requirements of the high hourly production.  

The centrifuge adopts a fully enclosed design and optional instrumentation integrated into the control system including the automatic nitrogen filling system and oxygen monitoring system to meet the requirements of solid-liquid separation of toxic, harmful, easily oxidizable, flammable, explosive and other materials. It is equipped with comprehensive monitoring and protecting devices that include front door closure, machine vibration, bearing temperature, lubrication oil flowrate, cake level, scraper position, skimmer pipe position, and motor overload protecting, etc. According to different cake solids, the discharge chute or screw conveyor can be selected to adapt to a variety of slurries.
