FW series inverting filter centrifuges

FW Series Inverting Filter Centrifuge 

Principle of Operation

  When the centrifuge is running at full speed, the suspension is fed through the feed pipe into the basket. Under centrifugal force, the suspension is uniformly distributed onto the filter cloth inside the perforated basket, the liquid phase filters through the cake, the filter cloth, the screen, and the basket pores, while the solid phase is retained by the filter cloth to form a cylindrical filter cake. When the cake being discharged, the centrifuge speed is first reduced to the discharge speed, the discharge motor is started, and the mobile push plate is moved to the front part of the machine by the axial movement of the inverting shaft. Because the two ends of the filter cloth are fixed on the push plate and the basket, the movement generates the inversion (inside out) of the filter cloth and the discharge of product. Similarly, under the action of centrifugal force, the product is swirled away from the filter cloth and discharged from the discharge outlet.

Special design features

The feeding, filtration, washing, dewatering and other operating steps are conducted at full speed, and the discharging step is carried out at lower speed. Due to the pure electromechanical filter cloth inversion, no contact between the product and substances outside the machine during operation makes the machine to comply GMP guidelines and ideal for filtration and separation in pharmaceutical, food, chemicals and other industries. It has advantages of sealed design, automatic discharging, no pollution to product, fully automated continuous operation, etc. It can be applied in solid-liquid separation where the solids have thixotropy and the shape and purity of solid crystal particles need to be protected.

Applications 

  The centrifuge is suitable for separating solids with thixotropy, requiring non-contact separation, or hazardous properties that require a safe enclosed environment, for example, barium sulfate, calcium sulfate, calcium phosphate, aluminum chloride, penicillin, alumina, aluminum hydroxide, celery, etc.
